Design and quality at the highest level.
When it comes to the technology that goes into tyre manufacturing, there’s a lot more thought that goes into it than most people would expect. New tyre technologies and design ideas are always evolving, which is why tyre manufacturers are trying to push the boundaries of what they can achieve with their designs. They’re constantly trying to find ways to optimise performance and durability, and even ways to make tyres more economical or environmentally friendly.
The most popular development in the tyre industry is the creation of Run-flat tyres. As the name suggests, these tyres allow you to continue to drive safely even when air-pressure has dropped.
There are two different ways that these work. The simplest is a rim clip, which is simply a rubber clip that stops the tyre rim piercing a hole in your tyre if it goes flat. A slightly more complex version is the reinforced tyre sidewalls. This is a device that fits around the metal rim of your tyre, and is able to support the weight of your car, even if the tyres run flat as you drive. This greatly reduces your risk of an accident caused by a flat tyre and is safer as you don’t need to stop to change a flat tyre.
Tyre inspection procedure for a claim
Evaluation of tyres for a claim can be done at any Mercedes-Benz dealership or a Continental Service Centre of your choice, whichever is convenient for you.
Your tyres will be tested - preferably while on your vehicle - and the dealer will assist you thereafter regarding any claims. However, should no solution be found onsite, the dealership will have to fill out an application form, requiring some of your details.
